Science Facilitators

Every K-12 TUSD school has a science facilitator who serves as a teacher leader to sustain the vision for effective and equitable science education for all students. The science facilitators provide high quality professional development and support at their school site. Their role includes the following:
  • Participate in facilitator professional development program
  • Coordinate the science curriculum (K-8 science kits/modules delivery program)
  • Communicate and serve as the liaison with the Science Department, Science Resource Center, teachers and school administrators
  • Model and support best practices in science instruction
  • Support new teachers and long-term substitute teachers (curriculum maps, resources, etc.)
  • Promote community awareness of State and National Science Education Standards
